Gallery – Industry Practice (Live brief from Wrexham Council)
Here are a few photo’s taken during reading week of the progress we made as a team on the brief…
Here Sarah is drawing out the number on large piece of cardboard, we used Sam’s drawings of the numbers as they worked well in 3D and had character to them as they weren’t all in perfect size. We put them on the mac and projected them onto the cardboard to get them large scale.

In the process of cutting out the large cardboard numbers…

We cut two of each number needed so we could glue tubes in between the two and make them 3D, as of yet we aren’t sure how we are going to cover them.

Rough drawing of the image that will be on the board, trying to work out the positioning of the characters so we can get the holes need cut.

Sanding the boards after getting the holes cut in by Dave in the workshop.

Daryl got the job of giving the boards two coats of white emulsion to get a good base for painting the images on top. We had to get them finished by the next day to start painting!

We used the projector to get our images up on the boards so that we could then scale them up to match the size of the holes.

Drawing of the old lady and the dog on the board, ready for painting!

Board no.2 in the process of getting painted. Sam and Fallyn decided on the colour scheme we used, they went for bright primary colours like often seen on similar seaside boards.

Board no.1 of old lady and dog nearly finished, deciding on a colour for coat!

Board n0.2 finished!!!

Board no.3 finished!!
